Saturday, 3 November 2007Gordon Ramsay: Rock Star!A busy first day at the BBC Good Food Show Scotland.Due to other commitments, I was only able to be there for a few hours on Friday, so the lovely Amy manned Fablet's stall, shared with Beth of the Longcroft Soap Company. Even in those few hours, though, I managed to meet and talk to a lot of people, all of whom were very complimentary about our hand-made tablet range. There were quite a few visitors who'd never even tasted Scottish butter tablet before, so it was nice to introduce them to one of the world's great taste experiences. The event itself - running at the Glasgow SECC until this Sunday, November 4 - is fantastic, and well worth a visit. There are stalls and displays stretching as far as the eye can see, with literally hundreds of tasty treats to sample, as well as cookware, kitchen and household goods and loads more. There are also guest spots from top TV chefs Nick Nairn, James Martin and Gordon Ramsay. Now, I didn't get to see Mr Ramsay myself, since I was busy handing out free samples of tablet, but, from the roar of the crowd as soon as he appeared, you might be forgiven for thinking the Led Zeppelin reunion had started early. For foodies, Ramsay has achieved rock star status. The crowd absolutely loved him. Beth was ready with a bar of soap to wash out his infamously filthy mouth, but it seems the obscenity-prone chef was on his best behaviour. We're just getting ready to head out for another day at the SECC, and looking forward to it enormously. Come along and say hi - there might be some free Fablet in it for you! 1 Comments: |
